Recipe: Emina's Chocolate Truffle Birthday Cake

Nerma and I made two birthday cakes for my birthday, one for my office and this one for my girlfriends. We found the recipe on YouTube and the decoration idea is originally from Pinterest. As always, we added our own signature.

This cake asks for 600 grams of chocolate! Therefore, although not in the recipe, we added 400 grams of mixed berries to make it more juicy.

Once the ganache was ready, as explained in the video, we figured that it will not be enough to cover the whole cake as we wanted so we filled the cake with one half of the ganache and then whipped some more heavy cream and folded it in the other half to cover the cake with. That is why the other half turned out much lighter in color (but not less delicious).

Then we just placed approx. 300 grams of chocolate wafers sticks around the cake. We decorated the top with roasted hazelnuts and colorful cake crumbs. Finally, we put ribbon around the cake and made a cute bow.

Although I cannot guarantee it will be as delicious, you can make just any kind of cake and then use this decoration idea to make it extra special.

We hope you like the idea!

Love,
Emina and Nerma
